Recently, we have identified a need to conduct a thorough review of our probability systems.
In response, we have completed a comprehensive inspection of all major in-game probability mechanics to ensure the reliability of our service.

This process involved cross-verifying official probability information against actual service data, usage logs, and the internal codebase.
he results of this inspection and the corresponding actions taken are detailed below.

1. Rebirth Flame

The information on the option of Rebirth Flame in the official homepage has been corrected.
- The actual functionality of the option to appear on the weapon while using the Rebirth Flame is “Boss Damage”,
  but it was incorrectly stated as “DEF Ignored” on our official MapleStory N homepage.
- The in-game functionality was working as intended, yet the information on the official MapleStory N homepage was misdisplayed, and thus was corrected to “Boss Damage” to accurately reflect the actual in-game specification.
The probability of obtaining specific number of options (Bonus Stats) from Rebirth Flame was applied differently with the disclosed rates.
- This discrepancy was caused by the "duplicate prevention" logic, which automatically rerolls if the outcome is exactly the same as the previous stats.
- This logic was intended to trigger only when all options and their values were identical to the previous roll.
  However, it was incorrectly triggered even when only the number of stat lines was the same, which altered the actual probability.
- Based on the review of all user data, the actual results were as follows :

The probability of obtaining specific number of options from Rebirth Flame has been adjusted.
- Based on the analysis of actual usage data, probabilities for each number of options (Bonus Stats) have been adjusted as follows :

2. Star Force

Fixed an issue where, when enhancing with "Star Catching" active, the success rate would increase by 0.05% if the base success chance was an odd number.
- This was confirmed to be caused by how the system's logic processed probability values as integers.

※ The issues related to both Rebirth Flame and Star Force occurred during the development of MapleStory N while converting the enhancement logic to a new programming language in preparation for future ecosystem expansion.

3. Potential

The activation rates for the following Potentials, which were being applied slightly higher than stated, have now been fixed :
- Chance to ignore Damage when attacked
- Chance to ignore a portion of Damage when attacked
- Chance to recover HP when attacking (when equipped a weapon, secondary weapon, or emblem)
- Chance to recover MP when attacking (when equipped a weapon, secondary weapon, or emblem)
- Chance to Poison when attacking
- Chance to Stun when attacking
- Chance to Slow when attacking
- Chance to Blind when attacking
- Chance to Freeze when attacking
- Chance to Seal when attacking
- 10% chance to go into a Rage for 10 seconds when attacked
- 10% chance to feel Happy for 10 seconds when attacked
- 10% chance to fall in Love for 10 seconds when attacked
- 10% chance to get Furious for 10 seconds when attacked
- 10% chance to be deeply Moved for 10 seconds when attacked
The activation rate for the following Potentials, which was slightly lower than stated, has now been fixed :
- Chance to reflect a portion of Damage Taken
Functionality errors with the potential "Chance to recover HP/MP when attacking" have been fixed :
- An issue where only the last-equipped option would activate when multiple of the same option were present has been resolved.
- An issue where the effect would trigger twice if the Potential was applied on a weapon has been resolved.
  ※ As before, if you have multiple options with the same activation rate, their recovery effects will be combined upon a single successful check.
  If you have options with different activation rates, each will be checked independently, and their effects will also apply independently.
Functionality errors have been fixed and the mechanics have been adjusted for the Potential "Chance for Invincibility Effect when attacked" :
- An issue where only the last-equipped option would activate when multiple of the same option were applied has been resolved.
- When you have multiple options with the same activation rate, their rates will now be added together for a single probability check. However, the Invincibility duration will not be combined.
  ※ As before, if you have options with different activation rates, each will be checked independently, and their Invincibility Effects will also apply independently.
An error that allowed rerolling Potential/Bonus Potential to result in the exact same options as before the reroll has been fixed.
※ For players who experienced these issues before April 15, 2026, at 22:00, we will be calculating and reimbursing the currency used for rerolls.

4. Item Drop Rate

The Item Drop Rate being applied at a higher value than stated has been corrected.
- All items with a drop probability of 29.5% or lower were appearing approximately 16.4% more often than intended (e.g., An intended rate of 1% was actually functioning as ~1.16%).
- This bias occurred due to how the random function distributed drop probabilities as integers.
  When the probability could not be divided evenly, the remaining values were allocated to specific segments.
  - To illustrate,
    Imagine distributing 4.29 billion balls into 1 billion boxes. After placing 4 balls in every box, there would still be balls left over.
    Instead of discarding these remaining balls, the system's logic distributed them one by one to the boxes at the beginning of the sequence.
    This resulted in the first ~290 million boxes holding 5 balls instead of 4.
    This process is why the probability for the corresponding ~29.5% segment was applied at a higher rate, causing items in that range to appear more frequently than intended.
A 24% Item Drop Rate effect will be added permanently.
※ This effect is not influenced by the maximum Item Drop Rate cap or the Drop Rate multipliers applied to certain items.

5. Critical Rate

The misfunctionality of 100% Critical Rate functioning as 99.99999% has been corrected.
An issue causing Critical Rate to be applied at a higher rate than stated has been resolved.

As of this notice, no other issues have been identified within the scope of our investigation.We sincerely apologize for the confusion and concern this matter has caused.

The MapleStory N team will continuously strengthen our inspection and verification procedures as follows:

Regular inspections of all probability-based systems.
Reinforced code-level verification.
Cross-verification between official guides and in-game application standards.

Furthermore, should any similar issues be identified in the future, we promise to provide a swift and transparent explanation of the facts and the actions taken.
We will continue to strive to provide a more stable and trustworthy service in MapleStory N.
